Yesterday, the Wisconsin Supreme Court (SCOWI) suspended Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Hannah Dugan. Since last week, Dugan has been in legal hot water following her arrest for allegedly helping illegal immigrant Eduardo Flores Ruiz evade ICE. She faces two felony counts of obstruction.
Here is the suspension order from SCOWI temporarily suspending Dugan:

Here is the text of the order (emphasis added):
The court has learned that Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Hannah C. Dugan has been charged with two federal criminal offenses, one of which is a felony and one of which is a misdemeanor. This court is charged in the Wisconsin Constitution with exercising superintending and administrative authority over the courts of this state. In the exercise of that constitutional authority and in order to uphold the public's confidence in the courts of this state during the pendency of the criminal proceeding against Judge Dugan, we conclude, on our own motion, that it is in the public interest that she be temporarily relieved of her official duties. Accordingly, IT IS ORDERED, in the exercise of the court's superintending and administrative authority over all courts in the state, Wis. Const. art. VII, § 3(1), that Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Hannah C. Dugan is temporarily prohibited from exercising the powers of a circuit court judge in the State of Wisconsin, effective the date of this order and until further order of the court.
When the news broke, I was surprised -- genuinely surprised -- that the Left-leaning SCOWI would suspend one of their own. But after talking about it with someone last night, he was absolutely right: what Dugan did was so egregious that SCOWI couldn't ignore it.
But now I have to wonder: who will be the first to accuse the court (which has a 4-3 Leftist majority) of being MAGA sympathizers?

That's tongue-in-cheek, but only slightly.
Several Leftists were quick to jump on the Dugan bandwagon, white-knighting for her against the Trump Administration.
We'll start with Brian Krassenstein. He's the guy who thinks Eduardo Flores Ruiz is a modern-day Anne Frank and Dugan is Victor Kugler, one of the men who hid the Frank family from the Nazis. No, really. He made that comparison. Does this make SCOWI Nazis now, Brian?
Or how about Wisconsin State Rep. Ryan Clancy, who said Dugan was 'fighting fascism' by obstructing ICE? He maintained in an interview with CNN that Dugan has done nothing wrong:
'I’m not going to speculate as to whether or not she’s willing to serve time in jail. It is absolutely ludicrous that these charges were brought to begin with. Somebody had just asked me this morning, what can we do to support Judge Dugan? And I said, well, obviously, there aren’t going to be charges brought because she hasn’t done anything wrong. And several hours later, she was in handcuffs. So, this is not something that anybody anticipated.'
Almost two weeks ago, Gov. Tony Evers' Department of Administration issued a memo to state employees that directed them to obstruct ICE and assist illegal immigrants in evading arrest. Dugan's obstruction happened shortly after this memo was issued.
When law enforcement came for the judge, Evers called Dugan's arrest an 'attempt to undermine our judiciary.'
But Evers doesn't get to make that call. He, along with Krassenstein and Clancy, has the luxury of being able to shoot their mouths off sans the responsibility that comes with being the highest court in the state.
SCOWI, on the other hand, does get to make that call. And has gotten it it right on this: it is Dugan's actions -- not the Trump administration -- that undermine public trust in the courts. For far too long, activist judges have attempted to legislate from the bench and undermine our duly-elected government because the majority had the w(R)ong letter in the party name.
We've seen it with Judge Boasberg and other federal judges, who have issued order after order against the Trump administration, usually on the legal basis of 'ORANGE MAN BAD.' In March of last year, I told you how an appeals court ruled that judges handed down 'improperly enhanced' sentences to January 6 defendants and how a California judge ruled the federal government engaged in 'textbook viewpoint discrimination' after prosecutors arrested nearly two-dozen Right-wing protesters and zero Antifa members at a 2017 Berkeley rally.
SCOWI sees it, too.
And they just made a boatload of Democrats look incredibly foolish.
